Kai Havertz Arsenal: The Deal Is Going to “Close”

Chelsea gives Kai Havertz the green light to leave this summer when Chelsea had a surplus of staff due to massive shopping under new President Todd Boehly.  Some clubs want the signature of the German player, but Arsenal is faster than Man Utd. Last season's runners-up have reached a personal agreement with Havertz, and the final decision is up to Chelsea.

Chelsea wants $90 million for this deal, $11 million more than what they paid three years ago to bring in Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen. However, Arsenal will most likely bargain for a lower price. According to the Guardian, the Emirates stadium owner is about to make a second offer, about $77 million.

 

 

Real Madrid are also interested in Havertz but do not want to spend more than $64 million. Bayern are also said to be new to the game, but it may be too late.

After losing to Man City in the race to win the Premier League 2022-2023, Arsenal are determined to strengthen their forces. Besides Havertz, they aim to recruit West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that there are no issues regarding personal terms between Kai Havertz and Arsenal. It appears likely that a contract agreement will be reached, resulting in Havertz becoming one of the highest-paid players at the Gunners.

Why is Arsenal interested in signing Havertz?

There is a strong belief that Arsenal requires additional attacking options and tactical flexibility. Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are the main strikers, but they lack consistent goal-scoring records.

Folarin Balogun will be returning to the club following his loan spell at Reims. However, it is unlikely that he will be content with a backup role. There have been rumors linking him with a move back to mainland Europe, which could potentially generate a substantial transfer fee. This money could then be utilized to secure the signing of Havertz.

Havertz is the type of forward who excels in a more creative position, rather than solely bearing the responsibility of scoring goals. He could form a promising partnership with Jesus, either playing just behind him or in a supporting role.

To compete for the Premier League title and make progress in the Champions League, Arsenal needs attacking options with different attributes. Havertz, at 24 years old, still possesses significant untapped potential and brings valuable experience to the table.

Although Havertz hasn't reached the expected heights at Chelsea, he has managed to score 32 goals and provide 15 assists in his 139 appearances.
